1. Our commitment
My Future Education is committed to providing a safe, respectful learning environment for children and young people attending Turkish tuition online or in person.
This policy is informed by safeguarding principles relevant to private tuition and other out-of-school settings in England. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and the welfare of the child comes first.
2. Safeguarding contact
Safeguarding concerns relating to My Future Education should be sent to info@myfuturedu.com. Mark the message clearly as Safeguarding concern.
3. Parents and carers
- Routine lesson arrangements and support communications should be made through the parent or carer wherever appropriate.
- Parents/carers should provide accurate emergency and relevant learning information.
- For online lessons, a parent/carer should know when and where the lesson is taking place and ensure the child has an appropriate environment.
- Parents/carers should tell us promptly about any concern regarding a lesson, communication or behaviour.
4. Online teaching
Online lessons should take place through an agreed platform and in a professional learning context. Private social-media contact with children is not used for routine tuition. Where messaging support is offered, communication should normally be with the parent or carer.
Lessons must not be recorded by either side without appropriate prior agreement and, where required, parent/carer consent. Meeting links should not be shared with people who are not meant to attend.
5. Professional boundaries and behaviour
Teaching must be respectful and age-appropriate. Bullying, harassment, sexualised behaviour, discriminatory abuse, threats, grooming, exploitation and inappropriate private contact are not acceptable.
Physical contact, where relevant to an in-person setting, should only ever be appropriate, necessary and proportionate to the circumstances.
6. Responding to a concern or disclosure
If a child discloses something that raises a safeguarding concern, we will listen, avoid promising secrecy, record the concern as accurately as appropriate, and consider what action is necessary to protect the child. Information may be shared with a parent/carer, local safeguarding services, police or another appropriate authority where this is necessary and lawful.
Where telling a parent or carer could increase risk to the child, advice may be sought from the appropriate safeguarding authority before doing so.
7. Safeguarding records
Safeguarding records are kept separately and with restricted access where practicable. They are retained only for as long as necessary in light of safeguarding and legal obligations.
8. Review
This policy will be reviewed when the service changes, relevant guidance changes, or a safeguarding incident identifies a need for improvement.
